What is Kantha?
Kantha is a type of handmade, embroidery craft to create blankets or quilts. To make the quilts, old saris are stacked on each other and hand-stitched to create a blanket. Women in the Bengal region typically use old saris and cloth and layer them with Kantha stitching to make a light blanket, throw, or bedspread, especially for children.
